Innovators’ Pledge Profile: Katherine Shayne

Katherine Shayne (BSENVE ’16, MS ’18) is co-founder and CEO of Can I Recycle This?, a web resource that aims to empower citizens to change their local communities; modernize environmental education around recycling; partner with municipalities to improve the economic viability of their recycling programs; work together with major brands to increase recycling worldwide; and eventually, support waste management research and on-the-ground efforts in the developing world to prevent pollution and reach emerging markets.  

Katherine serves on UGA’s College of Engineering Alumni Board and is a member of the 40 Under 40 Class of 2019. Learn more about her and her company in this Alumni Spotlight.
